The digital world is becoming the landscape in which we spend more and more of our lives. This world has a capacity to be both a beautiful and scary place. It can feel as populous as a big city or sometimes make you feel as if you were stranded in a desert filled of information but nothing of value. This series explores the feelings of participating in these online communities. By using the virtual language of video games and photographing them with an analog film camera I'm not only documenting the digital realm in the physical world but i'm also able to abstract these scenes. The end result becomes a representation of the mixed feelings society has when it comes to new technologies, and the role the camera can play in discovering these new worlds, just as it did in documenting the western expansion in the U.S.
